Privacy
What this website collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. The short version: nothing is tracked unless you say yes, we sell nothing to anybody, and there is no advertising technology on this site at all.
Who is responsible for your data?
- Controller
- DBOS Systems Ray Michael, trading as DBOS Systems
- Address
- Horizon View, Phase 1A, Block 1, 202, Athinas 10, 7550 Kiti, Larnaca, Cyprus
- Contact for data protection
- ray@dbos.systems
What do we collect when you visit?
This website is hosted on Firebase Hosting, a service of Google Ireland Limited, which acts as our processor. Serving a page produces a technical log entry containing your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser type. These entries exist for security and to keep the site running, they are not used to build any profile of you, and they are not combined with anything else.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
What happens when you contact us?
If you send an enquiry through the form, by email or by telephone, we process what you give us: your name, your contact details, and whatever you tell us about your business. We use it to answer you and, if we go on to work together, to carry out that work.
Email is sent through Postmark, a service of ActiveCampaign, acting as our processor. The enquiry form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a submission comes from a person rather than a machine; this processes technical signals from your browser and does not identify you.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, and our legitimate interest in preventing automated abuse, Article 6(1)(f).
Do you use cookies or analytics?
Only if you agree. Nothing that is not strictly necessary loads before you choose. If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, which tell us which pages are read and where people give up. If you decline, those scripts are never loaded at all, rather than loaded and asked to behave.
There is no advertising technology on this website. No Meta Pixel, no retargeting, no advertising identifiers, no data sold or shared with advertising networks. That is a decision about how this business grows, not a setting we might change later.
You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.
Legal basis: your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, withdrawable at any time.
How long do you keep things?
- Technical log entries: a short retention period set by the hosting platform.
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to twelve months, so we recognise you if you come back.
- Client records: for the duration of the engagement and afterwards for as long as tax and commercial law requires.
- Analytics data, if you consented: up to fourteen months.
Does anything leave the European Union?
Our hosting and our data are in the European Union. Some processors are established outside it or have parent companies that are; where that is the case, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We chose European hosting deliberately rather than as an afterthought.
What can you ask us to do?
Under the GDPR you may ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it
- restrict what we do with it, or object to it
- give it to you in a portable form
- withdraw consent you gave us, at any time
Write to ray@dbos.systems. We answer within one month, usually a great deal sooner.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you may complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Cyprus, or to the supervisory authority where you live.
Does this cover the DBOS platform?
No. This notice covers this website only. The DBOS platform and the licences sold at dbos.world operate under their own privacy notice. If you are a client of ours, the handling of your business data is set out in the agreement we sign with you.
